California Quail

California Quail are native to the South Western United States.


California quail are serially monogamous; this means that their pair bonds last only during one breeding season. Egg incubation takes about 18-23 days.

 

They feed on a wide variety of plants, but especially annual weeds, eating the seeds, leaves, and fresh shoots. Also eats acorns, berries, flowers, bulbs, insects.
